PriFest is back! As is tradition, for one week we will get to watch great films in refreshing theatres and open-air venues. There are 70 films that will be screened during the 11th edition of PriFest (Prishtina International Film Festival), which will be held from July 16 to 21, culminating in the night of award ceremony.
In 10 different programs, of which 5 are competitive and 5 non-competitive, there will be 6 World premieres, 5 International premieres, 1 European premiere, 19 Regional premieres and 32 Kosovo premieres.
Fatos Berisha, Artistic Director of PriFest, said he is very pleased with the number of applications at the festival and the quality of the films: "- I am pleased with the number of applications, but even more with the quality of the films, especially in some competitive categories. The number of world and regional premieres shows that over time PriFest has turned into an important international festival in the region."
The films will be screened in four locations in Prishtina: The National Theatre (main venue), ABC Cinema, Kino Armata, and the festival’s traditional open-air cinema at Zahir Pajaziti Square.
Ticket prices are only 3 euros, while the All in One Card, which enables you to watch all 70 films of the festival, can be purchased for 15 euros. Like in previous editions, PriFest enables senior citizens (65 years and over) and students to watch all films free of charge.
The tickets for films can be purchased starting 5 July, via Rave Travel and online, or in two locations in Mother Theresa boulevard (the locations to be announced).
Kosovan film “Field of Blackbirds”, directed by Arzana Kraja, will open the festival on July 16th.
The festival will be opened with the Kosovar-British-Albanian film "Field of Blackbirds" by debuting Kosovan director Arzana Kraja. The film will be screened in two halls, with synchronised opening ceremony at the National Theatre starting from 21.00h and ABC cinema from 22.00h.
Many foreign guests from the region and other European countries, as well as actors and filmmakers from Kosovo, will present their films and participate in numerous side events within Prishtina Film FORUM, such as press conferences, debates and masterclasses. We will also have many music events.
We invite you to PriFest to celebrate this beautiful week of films!
Colombian film “Birds of Passage” directed by Cristina Gallego and Ciro Guera, premiered in Cannes, will screened in front of Kosovar public as a selection of special program of FIPRESCI Winners.
