More opportunities at Prishtina Film FORUM, industry platform of Prishtina International Film Festival!

More opportunities for film projects applying for Best Pitch Competition at Prishtina International Film Festival.

A number of workshops for film projects from the region and opportunity to meet Distribution and Sales companies in Prishtina Rendezvous this year in July! 

Apart from distinguished names from the world cinema and film industry professionals, PriFest will provide a number of unique opportunities for all filmmakers from the region, an opportunity that comes through PriFORUM - Prishtina Film FORUM, festival’s regional platform of film industry events.

During 5 days, from 19-22nd of July, professional filmmakers from the region (Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Turkey and Croatia) will have the opportunity not only to win Awards in Best Pitch Competition, but also to gain experience and knowledge thru workshops and coaching on script development, finance and coproduction, so as for festival strategies for film projects in their early stage of development. For more, all this will be free of charge for filmmakers.

Selected projects will benefit a 2 day workshop on Script Development, lead by renowned expert Clare Downs from EAVE-European Audio-visual Entrepreneurs.

All the selected projects for Best Pitch presentation will also have an opportunity to have a One to One coaching on financing and co-production strategies with another great expert of the field, Linda Beath.

Again this year, PriFest and PriFORUM will collaborate with EAVE European Audio-Visual Entrepreneurs, this prestigious network of European film producers.

Traditional Best Pitch Competition has also new awards for winning projects:

  • Audio-post production award in the amount of 7,000 euros in services, awarded by the company: Audio House, Macedonia
  • Color grading in the amount of 10,000 euros in services, awarded by the company: In My Country Production, Kosovo.

Traditional monetary award for Best Pitch in the amount of 1,000 euro awarded by PriFest.

Another PriFORUM’s activity that is raising international attention is Prishtina Rendezvous. A chance for regional filmmakers to have One-to-One meetings with international Distributors and Sales companies. Attendance to Prishtina Rendezvous is open also to regional projects that applied, but have not been selected to Best Pitch Competition.

Presentation of Hayet Benkara, expert on festival strategy and Maud xxx, Marche du Film representative, but also and Karlovy Vary’s representative xxx xxxx, will also highlights PriFORUM’s exciting agenda, and give regional filmmakers unique opportunity to engage and expand their network and professional knowledge.

Who are the experts?

As every year, PriFest’sPriFORUM- regional film industry development platform, is bringing to Kosovo again a number of very high profile experts of film industry, partnering with EAVE- the biggest professional training, project development and networking organisation for audiovisual producers in Europe.

CLARE DOWNS

Clare Downs, is a Script consultant, scriptwriter, visiting lecturer at the National Film and Television School (UK) and the MA Screenwriting Dept. at De Montfort University. Producer – The Dress (BAFTA), High Season (San Sebastian, Best Screenplay). Clare Downs has been a founding member of the EAVE script analyst team since 1989. Also Head of Studies of the Southern African producer training programme, AVEA, Script Expert for the South Caucasian Film Project (IFSCA), the International Jerusalem Film Lab, and has extensive international script consulting and workshop experience.

LINDA BEATH

Focused primarily on raising funding for development and production, Linda Beath works with producers of feature films, feature-length documentaries, long form animation and high quality drama for prime time television as an Executive Producer. She organisesand raises production finance, often via international co-production, attracting broadcasters, distributors and sales agents, regional and national funds and tax incentives. She often oversees marketing and promotional campaigns drawing on her background as a distributor in Canada and the United States. Working exclusively in the screen industry sector, her company also consults to production companies on business planning and management, and governmental organisations on support mechanisms and policy. She regularly runs strategic planning sessions for European production companies to improve their positions in the international marketplace. Along with other industry experts, she is an active contributor in the discussion and development of new business models. She is a trainer for producers in the areas of finance, co-production and new industry revenue sources for EAVE, MAIA and with other MEDIA and Euromed Audiovisual programmes.
