Jane Spencer – Member of the Main Jury

Jane Spencer is an award-winning screenwriter and director, recognized for her rich and detailed character portrayals, described by Filmmaker Magazine as a visionary auteur.

In 2023, she was honored with the Producers Without Borders Award at the Venice Film Festival for “Authorial and Poetic Cinematography.”

Her debut feature film, Little Noises, starring Crispin Glover and Tatum O’Neal, premiered at Sundance and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize.

Her latest work, the dystopian sci-fi allegory South of Hope Street, featuring Judd Nelson, William Baldwin, and Michael Madsen, is being distributed through Paramount+ and has won multiple awards at international festivals.

Her film The Ninth Cloud was screened at prestigious festivals including Raindance, Shanghai, La Femme, and Glasgow.

Jane graduated in Theatre from the University of Texas, studied film directing at NYU, and trained at The Actor’s Studio under the mentorship of legends Elia Kazan and Arthur Penn.

She currently lives in Switzerland, where she runs her production company, Ward9 Productions, and develops new film projects.

We are delighted that such an accomplished artist is joining the Main Jury of Balkan feature films at this edition of PriFest.

PriFest takes place from September 9–14 at Kino Armata in Prishtina.
