PriFest is proud to announce the final member of the jury for this year’s Balkan Film Competition: acclaimed Spanish producer Antonio Saura.
Saura is the founder of Zebra Producciones and co-founder of the international sales company Latido Films, bringing with him decades of experience in both film production and distribution. His impressive credits span a wide range of award-winning films, including En la ciudad sin límites by Antonio Hernández, Rencor by Miguel Albaladejo, and Fados by Carlos Saura. He has also overseen box-office successes such as Dos Tipos Duros and Di que sí, as well as experimental projects like Síndrome.
In recent years, Zebra Producciones has successfully expanded into television, producing hundreds of hours of fiction and entertainment content. Recognized internationally, Saura was named a “Producer to Watch” by Variety and selected as a “European Producer on the Move” in 2003. Earlier in his career, he also held leading roles as Head of Development at Lola Films and Iberoamericana Films.
Beyond production, Saura has played a significant role in film education and training. He co-founded the Media Business School, where he served as director for six years, and later established the Mediterranea Development Agency (MEDEA). Today, he continues to teach and mentor at leading film schools, universities, and industry programs across Europe, sharing his expertise with new generations of filmmakers.
With Antonio Saura joining the panel, the Balkan Film Competition jury is now complete, promising a diverse and experienced group of professionals who will bring unique perspectives to this year’s selection.
