There are only a few days left to begin with the 16-th edition of the Prishtina International Film Festival – PriFest, an extraordinary edition that promises a lot.
The regional cinema and the main competition of PriFest, featuring feature-length Balkan films, promises a highly engaging and attractive program.
The first film in this category and also the one that will open this edition is the film ‘STORK’ by the renowned director Isa Qosja, which will have its world premiere at PriFest. This film is a co-production between Montenegro and Kosovo.

The film is about a sleepy Montenegrin village, where most of the natives have emigrated to the US, is the setting for a bitter-sweet tale of three women fighting for autonomy. Suta resists pressure to marry her late husband's autistic twin, Vezire and Drane must learn to coexist as their mutual husband plans to leave, Fize tries to find a bride for her son. A stork's arrival troubles the superstitious villagers.
For 97 minutes, the audience will witness the wonderful performances of actors: Arta Dobroshi, Donat Qosja, Shkumbin Istrefi, Arben Bajraktaraj, Flonja Kodheli, Doresa Rexha, Mirush Kabashi, Kumrije Hoxha, Zyliha Miloti, Luan Jaha, Selman Jusufi, Safete Rogova, Gentian Anastasi, and Besa Tusha.
The producers are Ivan Gjuroviq, Bajrush Kajtazi, and Snezhana Nikčević. The cinematographer is Gokhan Tiryaki and the editor is Vanço Mirakovski.
PriFest’s Director, Fatos Berisha, said: “We are very happy to open the 16th edition with a world premiere, especially with a film co-produced between Montenegro and Kosovo. The film by the acclaimed director Isa Qosja, with a wonderful cast of actors from Kosovo and Albania, will kick off the film festival and will be in the official competition of the main category of feature-length Balkan films.”
PriFest runs from 10-15 September 2024 at Kino Armata in Prishtinë.
